Bootlid ideas

  1. #1
Ok time to think about how i will have my bootlid on the car.

suggestions and pictures to what you think would look good on my car

. Have it completly flushed out and have my number plate mounted the same way i have my front number plate

. have the top lip over my number plate flatterned and smoothed

. exstend my boot down over half my rear lights and cut holes for the lights

Anything apart from the last option!

Boot trim smoothed and boot popper fitted, de wiper it and de badge it

mine hasnt been debadged but gives you an idea

The boot is already de-badged and is the last part of teh car to be finished in the bodyshop so size of the job wont be an issue lol what about something like this:

How is it badly cut? Only 1 line on that pic is out and thats because it wasn't finished at the time of the photo.

And if I was trying to make it look like a Pug I'd of cut and shut a 106 rear end onto the car.

these are just a few examples

imo I'd go for de-badge and delock the rear on a fairly subtle car, possibly even smooth the lock surround into the boot (similar to the white car). Don't think your car could pull the extended bootlid off in all honesty

The top lines above the lights are different lengths, fair enough that it isn't finished.

Well it looks like it's going down the pug route, diagonally across the light.

Might look ok once it's finished though, just not my kinda thing

Photo's taken from slightly off centre I can assure you that both sides match 100% as I measured many many many times lol

I'll not mention the pug number plate recess in the bumper then....

should see the rest of the car
its owned by a female has pink borbet A's and a completly smoothed roof, no sunroof or rails

but yeh im thinking that could be a better look in all honesty. not to much detail and not over doing it and would suit the sutleness of my car

Instead of spending time smoothing the original boot, would it be possible to put a 106 or a different type of boot lid on that is smoothed as standard?

I am just wondering becuase i am new to this
  28. #28
106 boot does go on but then you need the 106 lights and to relocate the lock catch a bit
  29. #29
    Cool, thanks,

This might seam like a dumb question to ask but how do you open the boot if it has been smoothed? because you need to press the button in to open it as standard.

I am just wondering, i am not completely retarded lol.

you need a popper kit, where you put the button somwhere in your car to open your boot

you can get them off ebay

even though that boot is common it looks really nice
  31. #31
Do you know what this kit is called? It would save me time searching for it lol

    thanks
  32. #32
boot poper? really aint hard to search for them
  33. #33

    mine
  34. #34
I got full flush(both old pics) but you really need a bumper with a recess in for it to look good. Basically as above but with no bodykit
  35. #35
Dont need a boot popper, can make yourself one with the central locking unit, just need some wire, the unit itself, bit of metal bar to mount it on and a bit of metal wire
  36. #36
I think i would preffer the half smooth euro look rather than the 106 look
  37. #37
Can't wait to fully smooth mine like the 106 look. Mite stick the number plate on the back window.

mines had the spoiler, jet wash, badges, lock and handle smoothed off and the plate recess made smaller, i like my boot its just different to most peoples smoothed boots
