Spax Vsx

Anyone running this kit at the moment, opinions please.

I dont think i need the Psx kit as i would never adjust it and i dont drive that hard and i will probably never be near a race track to require anything more hardcore.

Whats the difference between this kit and the apex(ride quality etc)
Im more swayed towards this kit as i want 40mm lower rather than 30/50 of the apex kits.

im running the kit on my vtr atm with the torsion bar lowered to match just about, handles great, not the most comfortable because of the stiffness but i think its easily bearable, just avoid the pot holes like you probably do already and youll be fine good value aswell!

is it the 40mm kit you have? Do you find it annoying for daily driving?

I got 99 problem's but dodging grids ain't one of them.

Thanks for the input mate, don't suppose you have any experience with other kits to compare it to?

Can you haggle in halfords? Do they stock them on the shelf?
edit- how hard is it to adjust?

mate the front are easy.... as the adjustable section comes through the top mount and you get given a tool to do it.. 2 secs.. yes there on the shelf and yes you can haggle... it was reduced from 380 to 250 and i said i want it cheaper spoke to the manager and agreed that 180 would be fine and it was brand new in box everything there

wow that sounds pretty good, less than the vsx kit delivered from kam.
Might have to look around a few halfords, doubt they will have them at my local one its pretty crap.
My car will be looking like yours lol

lol....i would pay the extra mate... and when following my car from the rear all you can see is bright yellow dampers lol

Get the PSX, Halfords were selling them to staff for £50 before xmas so theres a few sets floating around ebay for £125 to £140 depending on when you look .....

I bought some BNIB for £125 delivered last week !!

Springs are the same in psx/vsx kits. the vsx is designed to damp the springs sufficiently, there's not that much difference between them.

I removed some psx dampers from the rear of a saxo last week that had no gas left in at all and weren't even really providing any damping either, just screwed.

I've got the spax vsx full kit, 40mm on the front, torsion bar dropped a spline to match with the vsx rear dampners. Do it mate, the handling is insane compared to standard. Really stiffened up, but still not to painful to drive. 40mm is optimal for performance and handling so do it. Its only like £190, so well worth it.

I had the VSX kit on my VTS in 2003 It was alright, wouldn't necessarily say it is much better than standard. It's much stiffer so turn in is much sharper as is transient handling but the actual balance and grip level wasn't ideal IMO, and i've tried a hell of a lot of setups...
I would say that with some different front springs it'd be better probably...

alex what springs would you think would be better?

The faulkners 35mm should be OK/quite good with the spax dampers i'd have thought. Can't see the rating being that far off the 2nd rate of the spax'
