if you have the same engine loom year as your mk1

I've never tried a vtr engine into a 1.1 so cant say for sure.

If you have a vtr engine loom and ecu then why you want to fit a 1.1 loom !? Just fit the vtr loom and ecu

I have just changed my MK1 Black top engine for MK2 engine and used the MK2 loom as some conectors and interoir wires were different. I would have used the VTR loom mate unless you have time to mess with wires. I am not sure about 1.1, but I had to change the dashboard as almost all interior connectors were different. Also you might want to check the fuel system coz my old engine had 2 fuel rails and a new one has got only 1 so I had to do some modifications to run the engine.
