ecu compatability.

would an ecu from a furio be compatible with a vtr or viceversa?. is there any difference in the two?.
  2. #2
    yes very different

although it would more than likely start and run it, but it wouldnt be spot on. (dodgy idle, running lean/rich etc)

so ratty i guess you`re the man to ask..
if i wanted to run my engine in an ax.. as you know its a 1.6 bottom end.. what would be the best way for me to run it other than vtr electronics?. also i would like to add its a late 93 model so i think it needs the cat and all that bollocks...

well it depends, if your using the 1.4 head and cam with the 1.6 bottom end then use the 1.4 ecu (as its not the bottom end that makes the difference its the cam, ign timing etc which is top end)

    very good info mate!. cheers!.

so as you might know i have a 1.1 single point ax, im using a 1.6 bottom end. if u used the 1.1 head, cam, ecu and throttle body do you think it would work?. i know everybody has said whats the point it might not supply enough fuel??. what i have found is that a very simular ecu was used on a 1.6 bx. mine is a magneti g6.11 and on the bx it was a magneti g6.10.
i do have an ax gt carb, head and loom would i be better of using that and put a cat on will it pass an mot?. im a bit stuck here as i am unemployed and aint got the cash to buy multi point manifold and ecu.
im just trying to figure out the best way to run the engine with what i got and of course get it through an mot.

right i have decided, i got the haynes manual and a peice of paper and i wrote down the difference in the two looms, a have an early ax gt loom so i am going to use that!. so carbs it is!. i eventually sussed out which pin was what on the round plug..except for a few but all the ones i need to make it run i have found!. so once my garage is built i will be dropping the old engine out and in with the new!>..

single point wont run the 1.6 there is no way enough fuel, it will be on its back trying to run a 1.1 (which is why they changed to multipoint, and for better fueling control)
