Newbie with a question

Hiya guys. Thought id join this site as I've owed my 03 Saxo VTR for a few months now and im always searching the net for saxo stuff.... low and behold i get sent to this site nearly everytime! lol

    My question is.

My saxo needs a new cat section as its split and blowing. I've been quote nearly £200 just for the cat so thought i may aswell just get a decat for it instead.

Is the cat on the manifold as it seems really close or is it in a seperate section?

Cheers in advance lads and lasses.

Im pretty sure yours cats in the manifold mate as mines a 01 Vtr and mines in the manifold also, But just check around the forums for threads to be sure (:

It should be on the manifold mate. Do not tink you really get decat pipes for there, unless custom. Best bet usualy is to buy a new manifold. Raceland/supersprint etc etc

Oh right. That was what i was thinking. I wont have any Lambda problems with a new manifold will i?

No. Just plug the first lamda back to and use a sleeve for the second.

So i need to get a manifold, and mess around with lambda sensors?

Why cant it just be a simple job!?

    May aswell do it properly.

You could go to a exhaust place and see if they can make you a simple decat pipe to fit but will not be good.

You could also go down the route of the MK1 standard manifold which did not have a cat in it but you would have to adjust the oil filter.
