Clutch!

Helloo all.
First off, can anyone tell me if a clutch on a 106 gti (s reg) is hydraulic or cable? im thinking cable?
And when im driving the car, ill put my foot down a bit more, the revs will rise but the speed doesnt really, im thinking this is the clutch slipping? although the slightly worrying thing is that i can smell gearbox oil when my heaters are on?

Yes its cable. Sounds like you need to have a look and see whats going on. It may just be the clutch has just about had it as they do tend to smell bad when they start to slip a lot. Or as you say it could be oil coming out your box.
