Nissens Radiator, suggestions/opinions wanted !!

  1. #1
My vts Rad is weeping puss-y looking crap from the end where the filler cap is, im thinking I need a new one for this reason and that I seem to be losing a bit of water this winter and also there seems to be no antofreeze left in my rad...? strange...

Ive been on 106parts.com and seen the part number 63745A which seems to be an uprated version of the OEM which seems sensible to go for?

    This one http://www.106parts.com/s2/page1.php...4=42&part=2427

Anyone got one that can vouch for the benefits as Nissens claims?

    Anywhere cheaper to get one?

Where do you get she shiney Nissens rad caps from?

And was thinking on doing the heater matrix radiator too? suggestions?

    This one http://www.106parts.com/s2/page1.php...4=42&part=2449

All seem like a good plan and can anyone answer and of the questions in Red?

Cheers in advance guys and gals

Nissens are the best, unless you want to spend £200+ on a custom alloy rad.

Their claims are true, products are great.
I wouldnt bother with heater matrix tbh.
Its a dash off job and not really much different

pussy looking stuff? no water? headgasket gone? could just be the water and antifreeze thats corroded something leaking but that sounds to me like you may have bigger probs

sweet cheers sounds like it does whats on the tin!

Anyone know about the shiney rad cap's for nissens?

Just trying to research antifreeze too as some claim 150,000 miles before needing changing and also say that if used with distilled water will never allow any rust or crappy build up in the engine block sometimes leading to water pump failures???

Anyone got any suggestions on 'GOOD' antifreeze products?

If im gonna do it then im gonna do it properly!
The thought behind the heater matrix was just that it will make the heaters work better, I like it nice and toasty

ah crap dont say that Blackie..

Puss, like someone squeezed a big spot and it dried all along the rad joints... im sure its just the antifreeze tbh as there doesnt seem to be alot in the rad by the looks (will check again in a min)
There was water just levels had dropped a little (first time since I bought it)
    head gasket seems fine tbh

anti freeze does turn to crystals when it is escaping so that should be ok just keep your eye on it

I think its this one linked below but best idea is to call 106parts.com to double check!
Someone on here will prob correct me if im wrong but iirc the raylee has the same size rad as the vtr's

Cheers Readie for the info!!! im gonna replace the rad with a nissens one! Im one of those people if I know its not quite right then I replace it
