Very hard to remove without the keys mate. You will end up breaking things. I had to take mine down halfords an ask him to do it with the keys (and he still had trouble lol).
Luckily he did'nt charge me but I think they try and charge full fitting fee just for pulling it out so ask first. If they do then get them to fit your new one.

    Good luck

dont pay them to do it, buy the keys or similar ones and bend them into shape.. slot them in and gently pull towards the sides of the car whilst pulling out..

Ask them to try them first though because none of the keys fitted my standard radio. He had to use his own toolkit

You can just use two thin screw drivers if you have some, just a bit more fiddley!

This method works for the standard headunit - did it to mine a few times, removed one the other day using wire coathangers that I butchered into hook ended rods....

Its easy to do, just get a screwdriver and force the stereo forward. Mine was stubborn but nothing broke, once it away from the dash a little, slide the screwdriver down the side and work it out.

I used cocktail sticks to get the standard one out. No bother at all.
