Exhausts and MOT’s

   Hi everyone,
   Just wandered if a manifold with a sports cat and a full system would affect the MOT? Cams? Someone told me that if you keep the cat you are ok and someone else told me that you would fail on emissions??? I don't think either person knew what they were on about so I thought I'd ask you lot!
   
   Also any suggestions on manifolds and catalysts for a 2001 vtr to match up to a piper full system - thanks

   manifold and a full system shouldnt affect the m.o.t
   
   however a sports cat AS FAR AS I KNOW isnt a proper cat
   
   so may fail on this evan before he checks the emmisions

   sports cat will be fine. iirc Scott's old vtr passed more than one mot without a cat so a sports one will be ok. on a 2001 vtr your cat is in the manifold, so fitting an aftermarket manifold will de-cat at the same time. the GMC manifold is the only one to get imo.

   Can I buy a cat or a sports cat along with a manifold? How much are the GMC manifolds and where from?

   gmc maniflods from gmc around £180 gmcmotorsport.co.uk
   sports cat from cituning, around £350 iirc.
