VTS Gearbox .... issues

Right, had an annoying noise coming from the gearbox, little read up on here suggested it was the "clutch release bearing", so new clutch went in thanks to Kris B over the weekend, thanks again fella, top service.

Now the car does pull and bite better, so would've needed replacing anyway. However, the noise is stll there in the first couple of gears, low down in the rev range whilst pulling away.
Another little read up suggests that it could be the "input shaft bearing"?

So a few questions, is this part easy to replace? or is there something else that could be the issue?

    Cheers.

How difficult a job is it?

gearbox apart - basically stripping the gearbox into all it's bits (bar taking the shafts apart).

Pulling the old bearing off, new one on, and then re-assembling.

Okay thanks. Something a "novice" could potentially do?

If it is the input shaft bearing making the noise, is it okay to continue to drive the car?

should be fine to drive for now.

I'm not saying it's 100% input shaft bearing - but could be.

It's not too hard to pull the box apart, it's then putting it all back together properly so that it works.

Check your driveshafts too, the intermediate bearing on the drivers side can make a noise too

Hi Predator - Can you buy and replace the bearing in the drive shaft?
Or is it a full drive shaft replacement?

Can replace the intermediate bearing - around £23 from Citroen. Then just need a puller to get the old one off and press new one on

Cheers Raunchz - maybe il go that route before pulling the gear box out!
