i got the raceland on my furio and i love it, runs great and makes a great noise.

Heard good reports about both, wouldnt have wasted my money if i already had the raceland one.

For the sake of an airfilter.

BMC is stupidly expensive for it. raceland is brilliant for the money and just as good as BMC

+1 no real bhp gains that will be worth the price tag on it.

when i went to castle coome we had this discussion about the best induction kits, and raceland didnt fair well due to 2 of the lads having them melted and they have tiny cotton filters, also fitting issues. One lad i spoke to had to move his power steering pump so it wasnt touching his manifold.

They really arent as good a bmc, for a start they're not cleanable and the major issue is the shape of them cause the air to whirl rather than going in directly, there is only 2 reasons to buy them..
    1. price
    2. look good
But in terms of performance Id say the standard airbox is better than raceland.

Would rather have the Raceland, the BMC is too expensive and people have lost BHP with it over the standard airbox.

who has? for a start i cant imagine someone RRing just to see if a filter has made a bhp difference. And i doubt you would gain or lose anything at all on all of them.
  11. #11
Never really heard anything good about the BMC. Raceland is good value for money and sounds meaty but tbh, standard airbox with a £30 panel filter will be the best option.

the BMC filter is good but to work it needs a direct cold air feed, yet 90% of the ones ive seen on here are left open in the engine bay so there is no point in fitting it
if your going to spend on one and fit it do it right, you wouldnt pay for a £1k per hour whore just to wank in front of her

    Raunchz iirc

People do alsorts while on the dyno, people have tried loads of different filters just so they can share the results.

i prefer the look of the BMC if its put in nicely, and not just rammed in with shitty hoses

it'll be the racland one for me and whoever said it has a tiny cotton filter, many people pay the up grade and get the green filter which is much larger, does this mean your selling the raceland one?
  16. #16
even the upgraded filters are smaller than most aftermarket ones you buy because you cant fit ones that large under the scoop.
well imo theres no way a cheap air filter with some plastic over it is worth replacing your standard airbox with, And the matter about bmc apparently causing bhp loss seems very unlikely imo but if true is bad news, so I say the best addice would be buy a decent panel filter for your standard box, or something like a piperx or k&n (or any large filter) with a heatshield/enclosure and put it as close as you can to the front of the car and dont use scoops or ring ended feeds they cause the air to swirl.

    Ide get k&n cone......

i wouldnt take an RR for gospel though

so long as the filter's at the front of the bay, with no heat soak, and theres a good smooth air flow to the TB, it's all that counts

i think the raceland is awsome, sound real sweetand also looks good and tidys up engine bay. but never had a bmc

the bmc is well expensive, and as said unless its got a proper feed no point, however i have a cheap apiro one from halfords and it does the same job.

    What he said ^^

Many poeple Have RR'd and tested and the Raceland comes up with much better results.

But also as said the BMC can be good if it has a decent airfeed.

both a waste of money when compared with a panel filter

Well the cheapest out of k&n, green or itg as they are all of equal quality

apparently some clio sports have lost power due to fitting a BMC too, the raceland is better overall (performance per pound etc..) but the bmc does look nicer, tho the money is effectively wasted on looks

BMC brand new £90, Ebay.. winner.
