mk1 air hose sucking??

   There is a hose coming from down the back of my mk1 vtr block. It feeds into my inducion kit. However it sucks a mad amount of air in. This causes the idle to be very jumpy and the car jumps forward alot. If I put my thumb over the pipe and stop it sucking air it idles perfect! Any idea whats up? Should I clean ICV and MAS sensor?

   your car is what we call 'Hunting. This is when the revs go up and down at idle replace the pipe and it will idle perfect all the time.

   What do you mean replace? Like replace it with a new pipe?

   yeh does sound as if something is blocked somewhere.
   Carb cleaner it out and give that a go maybe?

   Carb cleaner the ICV i presume and not the pipe. lol

   Well i think you could do with cleaning that pipe out, but yes, also clean the Idle control valve too.
