Important! : Nightmare to adjust tracking????

  1. #1
I needed a new nearside tyre fiiting this morning, so i took my car to my local 'Just tyres'. Whilst there i asked the guy if he could sort my tracking for me, but he didn't want to do it because he say's saxo's are a nightmare to do, because he'd have to undo some bolts behind the front wheel arches PLUS a third bolt under the bonnet in the centre somewhere. Is this correct, because a couple of years back when i was at a different garage and paid for a tracking adjustment, i don't recall anyone going under the bonnet. So either i was ripped off back then, or the guy this time round was just a lazy sod. Is he correct? I have a saxo vts

I had this the other day from a tyre place. They are just been lazy as I went to another one on the way home and had it done no problems

Its just more awkward then some other cars and takes longer. Therefore they were probably just putting you off like they did me

if you take off everything up till the throttle body it gives a bit more room. I would hardly say its all that hard though, my mate and I adjusted mine outside his house one day. Having said that, in my experience, places hate doing it, last time I got mine done they only adjusted one side. Cunts.

Everywhere i go, i get the same answer.. 'No point in tracking that mate, would be like pissing in the wind' Just because it's lowered 60mm.

Some are a pain if they're seized. I took mine for a mate to do at a garage, 5 minutes later, was all done, all the bolts were free so it was an easy job.

And it can be accessed from underneath it it's up on ramps, or from in the engine bay.

its not hard to track a saxo. I dont understand why garages turn away the work.

Is it quite easy to do without any equipment? Anyone done a guide?
