to scream or not to scream?

dont know if anyone remebers but i made a thread a while back about having a screamer pipe on my car, then dissmissed the idea but its now crossed my mind again as it will be so simple to modify this (pic below) to take a screamer pipe, any got any thoughts on this? need to make my mind up before i end up chopping and welding a decent downpipe
couldnt copy the pic so heres the link

For a screamer the down pipe flange should really have a cross baffle to separate the turbine exhaust from the exhaust bypass. Then you just feed the exhaust bypass directly out but the turbine exhaust sill still go though the full exhaust. It would be not to hard to build a new down pipe.

The only real problems with them is MOT and the Police as whilst there not illegal as such there is nothing to stop some one shoving a gas probe up there and as there are no silencing there not quiet. Even belching flames can be a issue.

You could always try it and if you get problems just stick the down pipe you have now back on.

the big downside with a screamer is room

yeah i know what you both mean, but ax for that set up as far as im aware the waste gas pipe in that down pipe is seperate till it feeds back into the downpipe at the bottom of the seperator, so with that downpipe it'd simply be a case of cutting the bottom of the seperator and welding the exhaust pipe back up then welding a pipe onto the bottom of the seperator? but then if its no good or i dont like it ive fucked a good downpipe this is where im undecided... think i may make my own up(daft mock up in mild steel) and if i dont like it i can chuck the original back on, if i do i can modify the original, know what you mean about mots but if you know a man that can iggest issue will be the ever growing vosa presence in my area? this is why im unsure .......

I would need more pics but most down pipes will mix where they bolt to the turbo. Have you any more photos of the turbo and down pipe? Saying that I would just make a new one if I was you. You can buy the flanges in to make it simpler.

yeah i know could get them made up off a mate and make the pipe myself, kit looks well made so id imagine he'll have a flange inbetween to actually seperate the gases or there wouldnt be much point having the seperator pipe that long if you get me? sorry no more pics till i receive it then i can better decide what i can do..

ive been thinking this tbh, the local boys in blue are nob heads round my way (and no this isnt an invite to start griefing the police just a point from my local force) and theyve got it in for me, one of few lads in birtley that mods cars and only being 21 they love to try their luck, as above vosa are putting in a massive appearance nationwide latley and my area seems to be on top target so im not sure whether to bother

stay safe then and forget the idea

think its gonna be the best way in all fairness mate, not worth getting the points for tbh, maybe if i ever track the car full time

TBH they way things are going at the moment it will be loss of car and points.
Yer will be way loud for track unless you can get the pipe to slam the sound into the ground

id do it tbh, screamer pipes are amazing lol

and i doubt the average piggy can tell what
    a.) a screamer pipe is
b.) the law on them (dont spit big flames in front of them)

and vosa will just re-order a mot, the same as having a decat tbh
