hi i want to improve my vtrs performance without spending a fortune would anybody give me some ideas and how much it would cost?????
easy way to improve performance
-
#1
-
#2£1000+ atleast to see a performance increase
-
#3u must be kiddin??
-
#4Id start with Transmission.
Then Breathing mods such as manifold, exhaust etccc none of which will see any significant gains until you spend over 1k as said above. -
#5£1k wouldnt even gain you much
£300 manifold
£250 Exhaust
£50 panel filter
£100 service
£250 entry suspension -
#6whats the easiest and cheapest way to get a rapid vts??? im intrested as i want mine faster and faster some more!!!
-
#7Gearing and weight saving will make the most difference.
-
#8then cams and throttle bodies.
Or turbo or supercharger
all costs big money -
#9yeye which exhaust would you recommend ???????
-
#10supersprint, kam-racing.co.uk
-
#11i havent got big money at the mo, anything kind of cheap that will have some effect??? i have a new piperx venom for it (it will go on when its not too cold to fit it) and a few quid to spend if need be
-
#12sell it, its shit tbh2 users thanked this post: ,
-
#14Im sick of pussy footing around members. I'd rather tell people how it is and move onto the next thread thats exactly the same as the last4 users thanked this post: , , ,
-
#15strip it
-
#16bin anything you dont need ie loose weight, free extra power to weight ratio.
-
#17Shed any weight you don't need (from the car, not yourself) and the regular breathing mods and you should be good for a bit of extra performance.
-
#18Best thing you can do with your money is get some bigger and better brakes then a nice suspension setup. Straight line speed is for 16year olds. Make it track well in the corners and coupled with standard power you will have a nice exciting car to drive
-
#19at the end of the day its a saxo want something fast get a differnt car or spend so big £££££££££ on it
-
#21yer it would
-
#23Power = Lots of money, simples.
-
#24What stuff would you guys strip out?
-
#25everything
i currently have one seat and half a dash
-
#27I dont insure it tbh
-
#28Ah because its trackday fair enough, but is it something you'd need to declare. Or just make up some bullshit that your havin em cleaned?
-
#29it should be declared mate. Yer mine lives on a trailer or tack
-
#30like everyone else say, it will cost alot for more power!!
nothing cheap when comes to proformance!!!
andy -
#31strip her out ! plainly cos its free
-
#33TBH i think the best thing to do is spend £300 on a good VTS engine. cheap way 2 get it fast.
-
#34Taking the back seats wont do jack all lol
-
#36It looks bloody stupid frankly. Just looks like you have used your car for the dump run or to do a car boot sale.
Have you ever picked up the rear seats then dont weigh hardly anything anyways. -
#38weigh less than a sub which most people remove the seats then fit a sub and think they have a lightweight "track slag"
Only the combination of removing everything makes a real difference or makes it worth while doing.
Frankly if your car spends 5% on track and 95% on road then its not worth it.
Even 50-50% isn't enough to truly justify stripping it out.
Unfortunately the new trend is to try make your car look like a racing car. Pretty much everyone fails then drives round in a car looking a tool -
#39to be fair all ur doin if u remove the back seats is makin it a lil more tail happy .. not good if ur a rookie , u cant get big gains for small bucks .. save up dig deep n work on bigger brakes .. sticky tyres and a firm coilover kit , wher the sax looses on the straits it gains on bends n corners =)
