Hi guy's, can anyone tell me what is the easiest way to remove window tint. I've got a mk1 tailgate that I want to fit to my mk2 but it's covered in scratched dark tint, never had the stuff before and haven't a clue. Thanks in advance. Rez.

Thanks Tom just found a wiki guide, I ain't using the ammonia method, I'll try the heat gun and scraping methods methods and take my time. Just hope I can get away without damaging the heater lines.

you cant scrape the rear window though, well you can but it takes several hours. One slip of the knife and the rear heater is dead

This is how I removed purple flame tint yesterday on a 91 Oldsmobile custom cruiser wagon I bought last week:

I used a heat gun and heated up a section of tint and at the same time heated up a razor blade glass scraper I got at Home Depot and it came off so easy.
The only thing is my scraper was metal so I had to wrap it in masking tape so it would't get too hot.
