More Problems

Well I think i may have found the problem with the high pitched squeaking noise. The noise stopped after disconnecting my subs lol? Today driving home, my power steering went, my lights kept cutting out, my battery light kept flashing and making a ticking noise, My indicator was at about double pace & the heater kept turning off.

Could this be why my engine light is on?
What is the most likely fault? battery, alternator or wiring etc.
Would this be whats causing the nasty smell?

    thanks

probobly battery mate have you checked it ? take the sub off and see if that stopps the lights going,

if not could be the alternator belt, as that could be the squeaking, i had a 1.1 once which that happened to wondered why the breaks eventually cut off because the spark plugs cut out, get ur alternator checked

The ticking is possibly a relay that going crazy. Is the ticking near the fuse panel under the dash if so its the indicatotr relay hence they are going crazy. Is the smell real bad if it is then chances are you burning pvc somewher as in there is an electrical fire. Or maybe just something gettin reallly hot. If your losing a lot of stuff then id check the fuse box in the engine bay and see if you have blown a few big fuses. Check the simple stuff first as it usually costs less.

my indicator relay goes mad sometimes (usually when hitting over 100) how do you fix this ?

What when hitting over 100 mph? easiest answer is dont go over 100 mph on public roads. If you didnt mean 100 mph then replace the relay or spray teh connections with wd40 might work i know that it works on most bad connections as it dispells moisture.

Weel ive seen sparkys ive worked with use it before but only in certain occasions. Kmh ay good answer. Im not too sure but haynes manual should tell you which one and how to do it. As far as im aware though the top bit just pulls of exsposing the pins throw the old one away get the new one line up the pins and plug and play.

bad earth or knackered battery will cause this

ahh it could be my earth as the wire is pretty old leading from the amp. The ticking only comes on when the battery light comes on. Yeah i thought the squeeking may be the alternator belt as it gets more high pitched with more revs. thanks!
