as above ca i get this to fit my vts or will i eed an omex ecu???http://cgi.ebay.ie/Omex-Twin-Coil-Re...em3ca9692cce??

    looks like shite to me.

Its a very good brand and yes it should fit most saxo although they already have a built rev limiter. I don't really see why you would want to fit one.

    the voice of ignorance.

i can tell you omex are a very good company.

not really necessary on a saxo though dude.
yes it will fit i think saxo_89 has one fitted

you'll need single coil, not double coil

No you dont, tu engines are a wasted spark engine and require the twin coil setup.

The omex rev limiter with launch control is a good product. Can cause bore wash though if used incorrectly.

Very easy to wire up, very easy to use.

    dont bother with that mate

For most there is little point. The Saxo has a built in rev limiter and most Saxos do not run enough power to require launch control. Most that do have the power are already run stand along. If you are one of the few who are running big power on a piggyback ECU that does not already have built in launch control then it may be handy. But even then the advantage is questionable as its quite a basic system. Originally these systems were generally used as a engine protection systems for off road vehicles and boats to stop engine that did not already have a built in rev limiter from over revving when unloaded. They are and still are very good for this application.

Edit: forgot to add if you are running a normal cat they generally really dislike regular cutting of the spark

Fair point, they are still a good product and on my vts it was a giggle for a while. It is more for pub talk than anything else.
It does exactly what it says on the tin though.
  12. #12
lol i no guys im ot going to buy it or ething i was just beig curious
  13. #13
I was looking at that in demontweeks yesterday, looks like a very clever bit of kit
  14. #14
i still dont fully understand how the launch control works
  15. #15
Stops the coilpack from firing keeping the revs at a preset rpm
  16. #16
so u flick the launch on n you sit their reving without the wheels spinnin?
  17. #17
    Pretty much yer.
It basically limits the revs so they cant go any higher than "X" rpm when you have got traction release the button and you can rev all the way to the limiter as normal.
  18. #18
aaa got ya mite look into one properly once i get some money comin in again
  19. #19
TBH if you cant control wheel spin with your right foot then you shouldn't be driving really. Dont waste your money. I only got mine for a giggle, paid nothing for it popped a few flames and sold it on.
  20. #20
is that all it does is stop you from spinnin up??

only if you can set it up correctly.

Also you still have to keep the throttle balanced at the revs on the gauge otherwise you cause serious bore wash as it will continue to fuel according to throttle position. (Does pop some good flames though )
    So really this is pointless
  22. #22
haha i thought it was somthing amazing

so really it does nothin, you still have to feather the throttle
  23. #23
    yup pretty much
  24. #24
    boooooring
  25. #25
pointeless unless your doing a lot of quarter miles
  26. #26
funny piece of kit bus as "sparco_tom" says if u cant controll ur own launch then get the hell outta here haha
  27. #27
I have one just for messing about dont need it at all but it does sound nice when you use it as the limiter bounces alot faster! However you dont want to hold it for too long as it overheats!

even then it is pointless. Santa pod for example super sticky tarmac, you can almost drop the clutch as 4.5-5k rpm without wheel spin at all. The art is in putting the power down without the car bogging and digging in
  29. #29
Quafie would sold all these problems would it not?
  30. #30
That would be the mechanical way
