Standard Airbox Restrictions

  1. #1
Could somebody tell me how to De-Restrict my standard airbox, im going to go and purchase a K&N panel filter and take off my stupid open cone filter. Ive tried the search function and cant find any threads which explain how to de-restrict the airbox..

    Thanks in advance

Change the iduction pipes to silicone and jubilee clip them to the airbox..?

its the grooves which cause it to be restricted. better airflow over smooth surface rather than castlated

remove all the pipe work from the box to the front of the slam panel. Replace it with a straight piece of cold air feed tubing

If you have the round airbox it's worth taking the lid off and enlarging the "trumpet" thing in there as well mate. Just drill a few 20mm holes in its side

Anyone got any back to back dyno results of this?

I think it would be good on the VTS OE air system, as it's not that bendy etc. But what do you do with the VTR ones? They have so many bends etc it has to be a restriction to airflow?

for my westcoast i just removed bendy pipes from airbox to front grille but put the but attatched to grill on end of pipercross cold airfeed then attatched to airbox. reason i left here was because that part of the car has a much better air pressure if you put it lower would obv be a lower air pressure so some things for you to think about before u just wack it anywere

Pro Comp or the ITG are the top induction kits for the Saxo though.
