how low to go?

  1. #1
Hi well im going to get my car lowered next week the gf is paying for it lol . But i was wondering how low you all this i should go. I have a 1.4 furio and was thinking lower at the back. I saw a 106 the other day which was that low half the back wheel was missing. Has anyone on here got a car like that i wanted to know what it looked like on a saxo. Otherwise i think like 60-80mm would be right.

    What do ppl think?

i would say slightly lower at the front, gives a more agressive stance and im sure if the backs alot lower you will get understeer if your ever on a track or driving like a cock

Id get it done level mate, 80mm all around is quite alot, especially if your on the original dampers

    60mm would be enough imo

    60mm is harsh

    40mm = win

60mm for looks, and 40mm for handling

Depends what size rims ur planning on running tbh. There is a lowering guide here with pics of saxo's at different heights hang on

Have a look, but if u want ppl in the back and use it as an everyday car, u dnt want to go lower than 60mm but thats my own personal preference

i went 90mm on the rear
looked mint but then hired it so its only 60mm and its much better
  9. #9
the lower you take it the more problems you are going to get. 40mm is optimum, any lower than that and you start to incur problems, most people dont take it lower than 60, although I personally think 40 is better. 80mm you may aswell forget about driving it practically.

    Slam it
  11. #11
    40-50mm imo
  12. #12
60 i thinks best. i got 40 and i always look at it wishing i went lower

looks a bit cack the rear higher than the front tho
  13. #13
I will be going 50mm then evening up the rear.
  14. #14
    40 back
    50 front

    Jobs done.
  15. #15
give it some stance 60front an like adjust the torsion bar to suit
  16. #16
i rekon 40mm anything lower looks to much, but also depends on size of wheels

my saxo is lowered 80mm alround on spax and uprated dampers shes stuck like glue but fucking uncomfy for day to day driving but it all makes sense on the round abouts my last saxo was 40mm all round and for the lil less grip on the corners u get such a more comfy ride

and its on 15inch 1.9 gti 205 wheels
  19. #19
Go for 50mm at teh front and 60mm at the back, just so i can see pictures! As thats what Im gonna go!

80mm all round? since when did spax do 80mm lowering springs? Also its genrally seen that 40mm is optimum for handeling so its highley likely that your newer saxo will prob handle worse!

are you sure about that? Could have sworn that loads of people on here have taken a 40 drop and don't have rubbing problems?

What do people think it would be like if i drop the front 50 and the back 60?
  23. #23
    60 allround
  24. #24

ive never heard of rubbing issues at 40.
i dont think theres anything wrong with 50 front 60 rear. still trying to decide myself weather 50 or 60 at the front

Its definately only 40mm, the back is lowered so that the car sits level. Looks great and handles like a dream.

    60/80

  31. #31
40mm for handling & practicality. Any lower is just for looks it just depends what you need? IMO 60mm looks best
  32. #32
pref i would do 50mm all round, just sits perfect if u got standard vtr alloys, and rides not to bad.
  33. #33
all comes down to what you want it for,
if you can put up with the ride id slam it for the fact its looks amazin but if you just want it to look a bit lower and improve handling go 40 all round

heres mine on the back, just need sum coilovers
