Oil Filter Change

    Just changed a mates corsa oil fitler, was straight forward enough. Its promoted me to pull my finger out and service my own. Ive just had a look at my filter, it looks different to his, was wondering how i get it off ?

    not sure about a 1.1 but i am sure all engine blocks are similar(ish). get an oil filter chain wrench and undo ensuring old oil filter gasket is off too to prevent making a double gasket, thread new one in hand tight until it grips tight and thats all, simplez

    edit: if a chain wrench isn't to hand and you feel brave (botching) stab a screw driver through the filter and twist out instead. but can go terribly wrong if done badly. also make sure you hold some sort of pan under the filter when removing because it does hold a small bit of oil too

    Thats the problem, it is a 1.1.. It looks like its got some sort of cap on the filter, was wondering how to get the cap off ?

    It's a 22m or a 26mm socket iirc. Undo's and comes out.

    Y reg or newer I'm presuming? As above, need a big socket or adjustable wrench to remove the cap. Then just replace the paper element inside.
