50mm lowering

  1. #1
what type of arch work would be required (front & back) if i was to get a vtr(2002) lowered 50mm all round?
  2. #2
all depends on what size wheels you have.

good to see someone else from woking
  3. #3
nothing really unless your fitting 17s
  4. #4
ill most probably have 15" wheels or the vtr rims.
yeh i live just outside of woking bout 10mins away.
  5. #5
iam from knaphill, you dont live down anchor hill do you?
i have got some vtr wheels for sale if you want to buy them off me.
  6. #6
i live the next road up from beaufort school if you know where that is?
  7. #7
yes i know my sister lives in the fieldings just oposite the school.
  8. #8
you won't need any arch cutting or rolling because mine is slammed 70mil at the back and she still doesn't scrub with 15s on.
  9. #9
o right, small world. no sorry not intrested in the wheels. im just enquiring about the vtr as im selling my 1.1 for a vtr in a few months and want to get all the relevant information before i go ahead with all the mods.
i thought some arch work would be needed though as my car is lowered 35mm on 15's with the arch lip cut back and i still get slight scrubbage. i no vtr's have a bigger arch but wasn't sure if any arch rolling/cutting would be required

is there anywhere round here where you can get a car lowered?
want to get mine done but i dont know of anywhere to do it.
  11. #11
i got mine done at john leane autos which is now basically at the back of safeways in woking but it did cost me about £250 for fitting of springs and the torsion bar adjusted.
  12. #12
was that including the spring or did you supply them?
  13. #13
my mate use 2 work at a garage + he managed to fit my springs + adjust the torsion bar for 50quid all in, have you not got any mates who could do it on a weekend with the use of a garage?
  14. #14
    no mate.
  15. #15
well i'm sure you can still find somewhere for less than 250quid thats a rip off
  16. #16
no i had to supply the springs. it was very expensive, but then as you say its hard to find some round here to do it, i think thats whay it was so expensive.
  17. #17
thought it was a bit much/some people on here say £150
  18. #18
yeah i got quoted £150 b4 my mate said he would do it 4 me!
  19. #19
i wont be going back to him for anymore suspension mods as after i had it done one of my neighbours who works for citroen said he could have done it alot cheaper, so everytime i have a problem with the car he sorts it out (usually free most the time)
  20. #20
if i was to get some spings and dampers would he be interested in some work?
  21. #21
i personally wouldn't be able to say, as i dont want to get your hopes up and then for him to say no. ill try and ask him if i see him around and then let you know. he does take ages to get round to doing things though as i have had to wait upto 3 weeks for my car to be serviced in the past.
  22. #22
    okay cheers mate.
  23. #23
are you going to the guildford meet on the 19th?
  24. #24

  25. #25
