gearbox/engine speeds

   hey guys
   
   1st question:- is it possible to find out what gearbox i have sat in my spare bedroom
   
   2nd question:- is there a noticable speed differance from a 1.4 box to a vts box
   
   3rd question:- does differant boxes affect the bhp as im on the rolling road next week
   
   i belive i have a 1.4 box but not sure (hence the first question) as it really slows down the vts on accelaration

   answer one. there should be a code on a plate on the end by 5th gear cover!.
   answer two. i shopuld imagine so!. the vts has a short raitio!.
   answer three. depending on what you want from your box..
   i.e good top end speed or faster acceleration!.
   bhp is usually measured from the fly wheel for an accurate measure!.list of gearboxes and their ratios for the ma4 and ma5 gearbox.. citroen and peugeot tu series!!!!!

   any idea what the code is for the vts
   
   the only one i can find is 20CE09
   
   what ratio is the 1.4 is it higher top end speed

   fly figure will never change on an engine but depending on the gearbox you use you can effect the wheel figure.
