Backbox to Tailpipe Join HELPP!!

   I have just taken my back box off my car that ui bought a week ago and found out that back box to centre pipe is a flange to flange joint and the prat has bodged it what should it be back box with flange or with out ?

   centre pipe usually has the flange

   only way to get that sorted is to weld the two together
