Race cams that dont require remap?

Wondering what are the crasyest cams you can get for a late vtr without having to have a remap, it doesnt have to be good at idle or low revs as it will only be driven when driving to the track
    Can anyone reccomend anything?

    Thanks

you can run a cam without a remap,
just you wont get the full potential of it,

    a fast road cam.

Any full blown race spec cam you wont get near an mot or far without a map

just chuck a mental cam in and up the fuel pressure, won't idle at all for low down richness and won't really work till over 4k but perfect if it's just track only(no mot, no driveability)

Late VTR engine will need uprated valve springs for anything over std cams...

A Newman PH3 or similar profile cam would be fine without a remap. Uprated valve springs won't be needed if you're not remapping and raising the rev limit imo.

If u get a blacktop engine so either xsi / rallye or blacktop vtr the cam is wilder
so the ph3 and ph2 for blacktop are 280deg, but te ph3 for silvertop is 270deg

so there is a small gain there but like Ryan said any cam can be run unmapped but just will not be very reliable. Plus any higher than the ph2/3 you will need pocketed pistons. I know the ph4 is very close some one on rallyereg has a ph4 on STD pistons but even he said it's very close and pushing the limits of clearence.

Also another cam to look at is catcam 646 and 645. The 645 is a 50/50 on clearence so and u may get contact with them. But the 646 is a 280deg cam. But it has more lift and more duration at 1mm of lift than the newmans cams do

    hope that helps
