spray painting!

i wanna get my bumpstrips done in gloss black and my vt kit .

ive also some minor scratches/dents on the body work which annoy me also.
went to a body shop today and was quoted 600 euros for all the work.

    this good or bad?
im not too bad with a can of paint,i was thinking i could do the bumpstrips and vt kit myslef and have the body shop do the rest??

    opinions??

    pics below.

    thanks

start of with somthing a little coarser maybe 600 - 800 then work up to 1200, just rub it down and get a good clean surface so maybe give it a wipe over with a pre-paint solution or some white spirits to save money, for the deaper scraches use filler and work until you have an even finish flush with the bumper. The primer a good couple of coats, remembering to let it dry, rub down again with 1200 wet, clean it up again and spray on the colour, again a good few light even coats is better than one thick one, leave dry for aslong as possible usualy over nite in a warm enviroment, then laquer litle T-cut and they will look spanking!!

Buy a gazebo!! may sound daft but if you get one with sides you can create a good enviroment to spray in also doubles as a small shelter for the car and there pretty cheap these days!

i wouldnt bother spraying untill its hot outside mate or u can let it dry in a room witch is 20 degree because the paint will not dry as a gloss finish but a matt. also u some adhesion promoter as it will make the paint stick better and if u r guna use filler make sure u use a type that it made for plastic or it will just crack
