-
#5any good tho? life etc?
-
#6I've run them before (on 14" steelies) and they're really good on life. Regular tyre pressure checks and they keep from wearing.
Had mine on since sept, and they're still as good as, to be fair.
Hope this helps.1 user thanked this post: -

-
#12meaning not much grip?
-
#13I'm finding them good for grip, I guess it depends on your driving style...
-
#14You get what you pay for really with tyres
-
#15had these on my old vtr and i think they were better than the proxes t1-r i have now
-
#18They are very budget, not particularly special.Quote:thats what i see them as, geting me from a 2 b and not being low budget tyres

Have you had a good look in the for sale section? Bickerton is selling a set of decent tyre's thatll more than do the job, hes local to us too so nice and convenient. -
#19A good laugh I find is to have like 25 quid budgets on the back and a high quality grippy tyre on the front takes some of that boring understeer away
-
#20I just bought my second set of these in a row. The real reference is Nexen N 2000.
Not the best on the dry, but that gets better with wear (a tiny bit of understeer but my car is not lowered so might behave better if you have -30 mm), but quite a lot of grip. Awesome in the wet and I do mean awesome. You can go through pools of water like butter. Also, people will not tailgate you in the wet as these throw tons of water behind. I have used a lot of different tyres including brands and I have never had such good behaviour with all weather tyres.
These are very similar to Eagle F1's, a bit softer. I second the person who said they're better than Toyo T1R's. You can make an easy 20k miles out of them, so it's real value for money.
The funny bit is, the dry/wet response reverses a lot with time: they get better and better in the dry as you wear out the outer lines. I do rate them as excellent, especially for the price and better value for money compared other brand tyres.
Kumho, Korean. Falken is the company under Michelin.1 user thanked this post: -
#21thanks mate

#22I had these and didn't rate them at all.
-
#24Oh how silly of me to forget you know my car better than I do!
Correction, I had two. I had the Falken tyre in that picture changed for a Nexen so I had a matching pair on the front axle, which were fitted the whole time I had those alloys on the car.
So for your information, I doubt you know more about what my car has driven on than me. Nor handling if you think a £25 tyre will give you anything near a decent hold on the road
-
#25heheh awesome news. I thought the same as you about budget tyres until I tried these... I used to go michelin on the 106. I did the mistake to go brand x on it increased drag on the car, which did not accelerate so much while drinking more petrol.
Anyway, i believe the subject matter was to find out a decent budget tyre. As I mentioned above, they're not the best on the dry (gets better with wear), but doing pretty good in the wet. The performance to price ratio is the best I've seen. -
#28My vts came with these.
Personally, having driven the car 3 miles to the MOT station in the dry, i would have quite happily taken them off & thrown them in the bin.
Luckily somebody chose to take them away with the wheels.
Toyo T1R's are considerably better & about £20 a set more.
IIRC, Auto Express did a budget tyre test last year. They found that Conti's with only 2mm of tread were considerably better for grip than any of the budget tyres on offer.
To me, that proves that budgets
