banging on steering when turning the wheel

    Hi ppl I'm new on here

    I recently put some 16" alloy wheels on my vtr and now there is a slight bang noise like something is in way when you turn the wheel from left to right only bangs once when turning it left and the same right could this be because my new wheels or is there something loose or has anyone ever had this problem before? Other than that the steering is fine its just enorying thanks. Ben

    could possibly be the steering column but 16s on a saxo are big tbh iv got 16s on myn of a 206cc they luk gud but feel heavy its probs better geting some 14 or 15s

    Yeah but it did it with the 14s on too I have been to mabe the ball joint or could be the shocker I have noticed it comes from the right side of the car so mabe its one of them two (hopefully)

    If it bangs going through the steering motion then I'd say track rod ends or inner bush (steering)

    if you jack it up you should be able to feel for any play

    i had the exact same problem on my saxo when it had 16s, the problem is the wishbone ball joint. its the ball joint on the hub, its best to get it fixed asap as it is quite dangerous!
