Yellow Rear Beam

  1. #1
Hi guys looked under my 2003 VTR today and noticed that my rear beam is yellow - the previous owner claimed he had it lowered but by chance is this a VTS rear beam as it does sit lower than a standard VTR but about the same as a VTS?

VTR and VTS beams are the same, there all yellow iirc

the only difference was the ARB sizes (Quote me if im wrong?)

the beam colour is yellow (normally) on a vtr and vts so no way of telling the difference really.

the vtr and vts beams are the same height as standard anyway - so no difference.

Only difference might be in the ARB size, and all vtss will have abs, whereas most vtrs won't

errm, lol VTR and VTS beams are the same height iirc, only difference is that there is ABS on the VTS.

    I thought VTS's where 10 or 20mm lower?

nope, pretty sure there the same, if you think in the minds of Citroen. why would they bother making two Different beams for Height when they can use one for the VTS and VTR.

All VTR / VTS beams are the same height and both are yellow. There are only two beams for the saxo a standard one used on the 1.0, 1.1, 1.4 and the VTR / VTS which are made to be 10mm lower than standard and same with front springs/ shocks. Not much in it really.

Both the VTR and VTS have the same yellow beam- both set to the same height (both 20mm lower than the normal Saxo's iirc)

I dont think that yellow beam is touched when the rear is lowered (mine wasnt), its the torsion bars that are altered (the 2 red smaller bars). If its been lowered and its not obvious just by looking at it then check the dampers as they should have ideally been changed when it was lowered.

Failing that put it along side a standard VTR or VTS and see if you can tell that way

Its definately lower than a standard VTR - just don't think its been lowered that much though maybe 30mm

right well the that yellow beam is the same on all VTS and VTR saxos so the colour doesnt mean its been lowered.

Also to point out, rallye/vtr/vts axle's have discs and 1.0/1.1 etc have drums, and also 106 gti axles have a 24mm arb whereas saxo vtr/vts has 22, just gives a little more flex at the rear..
