recommended track suspention kit ?

hi, looking for a budget suspetion kit for track days etc..
at the min been looking at the Spax TAP 251 and a set for a decent price.
Heard they are quite good all round as they are ajustable but the car will only be used for track so not sure wether its worth going for something a bit harder.

What do u all think would be best for the money ?

    Cheers.

If only for track then forget spax.

Will partially depend on budget but I'd go stiffer with bigger torsion bars (assuming you'll have the rest of the spec to make use of them)

Bilstien group N's are worth considering although they don't come cheap.

Scaffolding for struts with low tyre pressures

got a thicker tortion bar already sroted. not sure what mm it is but its the thicker bar whats usually in a 106. i know u get get stronger ones but i think it should do the job.
im not going to be a hardcore track going, cant afford that but wouldnt mind doing a few this summer as ive got the 106 all stripped out and not too far of really to get going.

There's two torsion bars - sounds like you've got a 24mm rear anti roll bar

With a relatively low powered car like a saxo/106 it's all about how it brakes and handles - i'd spend my money on this.

Go with Peugeot sport Tarmac dampers all round, 23mm torsion bars with something around 300lb+ on the front. A set of cut slicks (would get a baffled sump too) and a diff. and it'll be mental in the corners on track.

I somehow sense your budget isn't this much, so I'd go with bilstein b8 rears, 24mm rear arb, bilstein group n fronts with Faulkner 180lb springs (250mm length)

Koni is a good cheaper alternative. The Bilstein B8 and faulkner kit from kam is a little better and also fairly cheap.

hanks for the replies. its going to be ongoing so its just a case of maybe saving 2 moneths or so for parts. if i had the cash lying about id go for it.

Ive got a couple of anti roll bars, tried them both but didnt feel much different. a friend used to have a vtr what was very back happy and the arse would go out any corner taking ur foot of the petal, he put a 24mm in and it made quite a difference. but suppose its a whole other story on a track.

Ill have a shop about at the names which have been mentioned in terms of suspention and keep you posted on what i go with.

another alternative ive been looking at is cages.. suppose it will tighting the chasis up but suppose its extra weight. but im sure if i was going to take it seriousely its guna have to be done just for safety reasons.

bilsteins may seem expensive, but they are worth the extra cash without a doubt.
