ecu question

i have a east-coast and getting a 1.0i but the gezza is saying fobs don't work n all lights come on dash when started ecu is broke he thinks. can i just swap the ecu from my eastcoast? do i need get anythink done with the ecu first? were can i get it done if so? cheers
