I got quoted 97 quid a corner Inc vat and fitting. Very expensive IMO. r888 are cheaper and more sensible as a track tyre as that's what they were designed for. But a048s in 13" are were it's at.

Your being mislead very much regarding pricing of both these and r888's

    same stiff sidewalls of r888's
    same medium compound
    last longer
    cheaper
    better in all conditions
    grip well from cold

all for a slight compromise on grip, something i wont notice due to not doing enough track sessions this year / pushing the car hard enough to notice it all.

What tyres are they? Some sort of new Toyo?

From from ive read and been told Ash they dont last longer or cheaper or better in all conditions or grip well from cold.

There just a R888 with different cut patterns. Look at what the time attack cars used last couple years in the wet. R888's cut like that!

Best price I could get was 97 fitted for these and 272 for a set of r888 I think. Were did you get them from man. Pm If you want as I have fancied some of these since they were talked about last year. I don't want to take the plunge with r888 as a road tyre.

intresting. I'd read up on quite a lot of reviews before buying. they seemed the better "all round" option for me personally. I would have gone for the 888's if i was going all out on a track car i think.

i think with regards to them lasting longer, it's due to the deeper tread.

cheapest R888's i could find were more expensive than these. tyredrive had sold out, they were the only company selling at £272 posted

these were £300 posted from camskill. Whereas r888's were £330 (both with the toyo motorsport discount code)

also: someones got to be a lab rat and try them out

They have been tested. They may just have deeper thread as its cut further for the rain. No better on the road then the 888 apart from maybe a little quicker on heat due to less rubber. Sorry mate

oh well. Like i say, i dont think i'd be pushing the car to it's very limits in order to feel the differences of the r888's. These will do me fine for the summer anyway

i'd tried to buy a set of r888's from tyredrive but stava on shed had the last few

most places have shot up so much in price for r888's now.

cheers for the info anyway mate, i'd have PM'd you before buying if i knew you had knowledge of them lol.

They should be easier to get heat into(only a little) as the tyre blocks are smaller.

Tasty. Not used these myself on anything, but heard rave reviews
