What a heap of cra*!

My wife passed her test last month and we purchased a 2001 Saxo. This week, an idiot decided to pull out of a side road and into the front end of her car.

The other person's car had a slight dent in the bumber; however, my wife's car came off worse...much worse. I am actually suprised at how flimsy the Saxo is - if this is what happens in a 15mph 'bump', what would happen in a more serious accident??

From the pictures, does anyone know what I can expect to hear back from the body shop - I'm concerned that this could be classed as a write-off (it drives fine btw).

New wing, light, bumper, cant tell if the bonnet is ok or not, might be lucky but cars these days are being wrote off for nothing so who knows, plenty of people on here willing to help tho mate, welcome to saxp

If any part of the inner wing has bent/crumpled, it is most likely that it'll be written off

The bonNet is fine - just the front wing that'll need replacing and obviously the bumper which looks like it pretty much just snapped in half.

I had slightly worse damage then this a few weeks back and mine was written off. 90k miles VTS. Mine damaged the rad, slam panel and bonnet too though.

Touch and go tbh, If it will be repaired its Slampanel, Wing, Bumper, headlight, chassis endplate. but tbh if the chassis leg is even slightly bent i rekon they will just write it off.

I know pretty much nothing about cars but the bonnet hasn't been affected at all - looks like the main damage was on the side wing. Doesn't look like anything behind the bumper was touched as I think that just ripped off.

It's pretty amazing how much damage was done for such a minor accident!!

btw the slam panel is bent aswell, from the bumper being "ripped" off

just as an update to this, it is currently 50/50 to being written off. the garage are happy to repair but say it is on the borderline of the percentage the insurance co. will go before writing it off....

hoping to know more tomorrow - only taken 12 days to get to this point...RIDICULOUS!!!

this is why saxos are a two star rating ....

id say a cat C write off as it looks repairable but probably is not viable

Just as another update; the car is now being repaired. However, we'll be selling it as soon as possible and buying something that would be slightly more safer!!!

Will never buy a Citroen again!

Not all Citroen's are as flimsy as a Saxo, so that's pretty silly.

To be fair, you should've checked out the safety ratings and what not before buying the Saxo.
