Tesco Fully SYnthetic Motor Oil

  1. #1
Seen they have 5ltr of 5w - 40 fully synthetic for about 20 quid. Seems a good price for fully but would anyone put it in thier car ? It meets all the needed specs & grades. Surely it should run fine in a car ?

Just thought i would ask and see.. Gonna do an oil change this weekend so just wondered ?

    Thanks

Cause i was gonna get Castrol Magnatec part synthetic 25 quid for 4 litre or that tesco stuff 5ltr fully synthetic for 20 quid. What would run better ?

I dont mind paying extra but 20 bucks is alright if your getting better oil i reckon lol

get the castrol mate, even semi-synthetic is going to run better than unbranded full synthetic imo

just buy some good oil - I'd rather buy a known oil rather than an unknown.

For all you know it might be made by Castrol but just branded up by Tesco - not worth the risk IMO

who supplies tesco with petrol, chances are the oil will be from the same company

Apparently tesco buy fuel on the wholesale market thus buy it off whomever is cheapest on the day

so in therey (sp) if shell had some optimax that was to go "passed its shelf life" (within expected sale time) and had none of its own forecourts to put it in as 95 ron they could put it up for sale and tesco could by it and sell it as standard fuel

No, if it wasn't 95 they wouldn't be allowed to sell it as such

I bought some 15-40 part synthetic on bargain isle for £4 other day suits me at the moment because my cars got a bad oil leak and havn't been able to get have a look yet.

i would defo go for the branded stuff mate. i have used the mentioned oil, it worked a treat, but i had a slight leak and didnt want to waste the good stuff.
now that its all sorted, i used branded oils ;D

as for fuel, as already mentioned. tesco and asda buy fuel from who ever has the best bargain at the time of purchase, i have worked at various refineries across the uk, shell, bp, texeco bla bla bla.
you would be suprised which branded tankers turn up at the offloading stations.
i sat at the top of a tower once we counted quite a few ''other branded'' tankers loading up with shell fuel lol.
