    hey up dudes

got my spax springs through the other day for a bargain price of 48quid from euro performance . (check out there site out think the sale is still on)

been to a few garages and have been quoted 100quid fitted and torsion bar lowered!

this a good deal or not as im not too sure on whats a reasonable price for this job.

    Sounds reasonable.

I know of a garage near me that would want almost double that, inc. labour.

some places do rip you off big time.my mate had his pug lowered and that set him back 200 notes just shows if you shop around there are good prices out there

If they do a good job --that is cheap

thats half what we would charge - so yes cheap. but as the saying goes, pay peanuts.. get monkeys!!

also depends if they have taken into consideration the chance of the torsion bars being seized in the rear beam...

theres a difference between lowering a 106/saxo, and lowering a 106/saxo properly. most lowered 106/saxo i see are always sat wonky on the rear! this not only looks poor, it effects handling, and can even cause the car to ride dangerously over bumps.

it becomes unstable, weight is not distributed evenly left to right.

    so be warned.

As above, check which way they intend to lower the rear.

If theyre doing it properly it is cheap for a garage like that to do it.

We do it for that price here, but have virtually no overheads so its just a bit of money in our back pockets and a good price for anyone that wants it doing.

No such thing in a seized torsion bar either, sure some are more of a pain than others but there is absolutely no relevance in terms of the cars age which can determine this.

I think that is atspeed,s point . originally they are greased when fitted ,if they have been out and not regreased next poor sod and have a big job getting them out

Certainly does help alot if there is some of the original grease left floating about.

Still getting a few come our way that are completely unmolestered and occasionally theres a 1 hit wonder bar, which is nice
