Nope mine came in one part mate, bit odd

im a little worried i have searched around and i have not found anyone with the same problem.

maybe because its meant to de-cat it, did it come with two parts?

thats all I can think of
  6. #6
nope it came in just the piece it's just the cat back piping. its worrying me a little as no one else has had this problem and there is the fuel near by the head shield it touching ( as far as i can tell).

No I think you ordered the wrong one!

There are 2 differrent lenghts, one version is shorter, because cat pipe is loger cause of second lambda after the cat, this one you need.

And a little longer version, because cat pipe is shorter cause there is no lambda after the cat!

So there is one for 96-99 models (1-Plug ECU), and for the 00-03 (3-Plug ECU)

Check the supersprint page there are differrent item numbers!

thank you for that, very helpfull but leads to a new question lol

if i was to get a decat (due to be my next buy) for my vts with the lambda hole in, will this then get the pipe to sit right or is there two different length decats?

the old race centre pipes did used to come in one piece. Have you got a part number?

On a VTS it would fit from the manifold back to the backbox in a single piece and decat the car

probably looks like the tube on the right

i dont have the part number brought it second hand and its just the cat back pipe, not the race pipe. i may not have made that to clear my mistake.

i think i have this one

you wouldn't happen to no if there is to different length decat pipes Kam.

Yes as I told, 2 differrent cat back pipes 2 differrent cat pipes, the same with the de-cat pipes!

That means if you get a de-cat with the hole for the second lambda, then your wrong catback pipe also won't fit.

    There are 2 options now!

Get a de-cat without lambda hole, and weld yourself a hole with mounting thread, so your actuel catback pipe will fit.

    Or getting everything right!

sadly as the center section has a magnex back box on the exhuast is already cut so i think i may have to go along the lines of the first option. i wish i new about the 2 different pipes before now lol. feel quick stupid.

thats the number of your catback pipe

Exhaust components Centre pipe for Kat. - cod: 233003

You will need the pipe with this number

Exhaust components Centre pipe for OEM Kat. - cod: 233613

    The difference is about 10cm

Don't worry that much its a popular problem! Maybe not in the UK most of you get a complete pipe with de-cat function also.

But in germany we had that often because it could be very expensive taking out the cat, nearly no one takes a de-cat, so people often get only the catback pipes, some are even afraid taking out the pre- or mid silencer hehe.

really? why do they not like taking out the cat? is there a law in place there?

im sure i will figure sumthing out to get the problem sorted. but thanks for all your help.

ah thats clearer.. You probably do have the one that you linked too.

the correct decat for the vts is

As Robert has said, 3 plug VTS' with twin lambda have a longer CAT, so the shorter cat back centre section is needed.

The single plugs with one lambda sensor have a shorter CAT, so the longer cat back centre section is needed.

thanks for all the help its helped clear it put, but just the a spanner in the work, my vts is a mark 2 with a single plug ECU with a twin lambda sensor exhuast lol.
  20. #20
You mean you got the 1-Plug ECU and 2 Lambdasensors?
  21. #21
actually i have just had a think no mine does have 3 plugs lol my mistake.
  22. #22
Y reg onwards will be 3 plug. There's always exceptions though, i.e. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a few late X regs which are 3 plug.
