Help! steering problems!

   The other day I stopped of at the garage and turned the car off, when I started it again and drove off the steering was realy hard! Could barely turn it! Went straight home and left the car till Monday to take it to the garage. Come Monday morning I started the car and it was fine! Anyway so I took it to the garage and they said there was nothing they could find wrong with it as it was turning fine. So I left it for a week and it's been fine wen I left work I started the car and the steering is rock hard again!!!!!! I have checked the fluids and all are fine, can any1 help???

   faulty steering pump mate my vts does that

   new pump yeah they are a electric motor the brushes wear on them and u get intermittent power from em gradually they get worse then die completly

   I had the same problem today, and yours sounds exactly the same as mine kept going now and again, hit it with a hammer the pump not the steering wheel lol mine is now fixed after it stopped working altogther.
