Lowering Ford Focus - Mk1 - 2000 (V Reg) 2.0l Zetec

  1. #1
    Hi,

What should I be considering when looking into lowering my car?

If I lowered on Coilovers, would I be able to adjust them so they make the car a standard height for when I come to sell on..

Also, does it affect the speedo or anything like that?

    Thanks,
    Dan.

Most coilovers use lower than standard springs anyway. My Spax coilovers I had fitted to my focus were 40mm lower than standard even on their highest setting.

Lowering wont affect speedo - only different sized wheels. One thing it will affect on the Focus is the camber of all four wheels, particularly if you go more than 30mm lower. You can buy camber adjusters to sort this out though if you wish. Only thing it would affect is the inside edges of the tyres, which will wear quicker than normal unless you reset the camber

Lol.why would lowering affect the speedo?
Changing the wheel sizd does that
coilovers can be set to standerd height but its alot of cash to spend out.
Keep the old dampers and refit them when u sell.
    Then sell the coilovers on.

Cant remember how much they are off th etop of my head. Sure Eibach make some so you could try Demon Tweeks. All depends how low you want to go.

Changing the dampers shouldnt be oo much as they can come off as complete units if your fitting coilovers instead. Should cost a couple of hours labour at most if your paying a garage to do it for you
