Knocking on near side when accelerating?

   Recently my car has produced a knocking noise coming from the front near side wheel. It only happens whilst accelerating and turning left at the same time? The noise is just a constant knocking sound like something is rubbing. I got told it could be the driveshaft but I'm not so sure....anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?
