Important! : Stereo Wiring Loom

  1. #1
I have a problem with the wires leading from the fusebox to the stereo head unit. I had a bit of an electrical fire for some reason. I managed to bodge it up, but recently i've had to take the stereo out, and I haven't got a clue which wire goes where because different colours have been used all over the shop

The wire had melted right from the fusebox to the stereo, and now my dashboard dials don't light up, there is no audible warning to tell me that I've left my lights on etc. I've checked the Citroen manual's fuse diagram, and it seems to be that they are all powered from that single block of wires. I'm pretty sure it's all from that one fuse in the fusebox. I'm pretty sure that i need to replace that specific loom. The fuse I'm on about from the manual is F12, but my cigar lighter still works.

Can I actually just change that one block of wires from the fusebox, and how much would it cost. I would have done it myself but I'm sure you need to get the dashboard off, which means getting the steering wheel off, and I just don't have the facilities or time to do it myself.

I could just do with some advice from people that know a lot more about me before i go to an electrician and get conned. They can't rip you off if you sound like you know what you're on about

It's a Mark 2 Saxo by the way

I'm confused lmao, will this give me those two stereo blocks leading to the fusebox. I really think I only need that specific loom. I don't understand what you're trying to sell here lol.

yes but if its only those few wires then go and cut a piece of loom out but what i'm saying is that if you have got to take the dash out (which i don't think you have to) to change it you might as well get a dash with the loom attached, 2 twist connectors ( 1 on some models) and a few bolts and swap them rather then messing around picking a loom off one and fitting to yours.

Oh i understand now, I don't actually think that i can get to the back end of the fusebox. It's just too fiddly and uncomfortable. I'm not sure if any wires from that block split off to other parts of the car lol. I'm just useless

Hvae you got an ebay account or anything where you advertise this sort of stuff?

yes, don't put everything on there though, it takes too long

Hmmm, I don't think it would be worth it moneywise to buy a whole dash and loom, when I'm 99% I just need that specific set of wires. If ever you could supply that, then let me know and I'd definitely buy.
