Need some advice on tidying up my car

  1. #1
This is my first post so hello to you all!!

I have just bought an 02 silver Saxo VTR which needs a bit of tidying up. I'm hoping someone can't point me in the right direction ie: websites, shops etc.

    - Need a new grill as the one I have has faded to grey instead of being gloss black. I just want the standard grill, nothing else.

    - Need a new aerial. I think the wires night be missing from where it used to be. I've heard that I could get a digital one, how do these work?

    - The black sticker-type-stuff on the window posts (wihich separates the driver and passenger windows from back seat windows) is starting to flake so I want to get them replaced.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreiated.

    Cheers

If you're looking for a standard replacment grill you're best bet would probably be ebay, shud pick one up for £10. Either that or a local scrappy
And as for the covers on the posts, like moxy89 says, just remove them, will look alot better without. Be carefull when removing them though, use a hairdryer to soften the glue or you could end up peeling some paint off.

Cheers for the advice lads. Just one thing, you recommend I use a hairdryer or heatgun to remove the stickers. Do I then just leave the posts untreated, just it looks a little tatty underneath?

It should be fine if you just clean the glue resedue off. But i'd recoment a polish and coat of wax

Just give the grill you've got a paint, mine was fading as well, painted it white

very tidy car mate, I can't believe that the window posts can look as good as that with a bit of TLC, will defo take your advice.

On a different note, I found these on eBay:

as you can see the kid selling wants £99.00. Is this easy and cheap to do myself using the door cards that are currently installed?

yeah i thought the same just a little change makes the world of difference

the door cards are easy to change yourself its just 3 screws if i remember rightly two in the card and one in the door handle.

all you need to do is unscrew it and lift it upwards, you'll need to disconnect the electric mirror blocks and the window connections plug in the new one screw it up again and jobs a good un

Welcome to sax p... get a heat gun on your grill. just go over it quickly but not to long in one spot. and dont hold it to close . that will get it back to black....or as above just paint it your choice.
