hi all any ideas why an engine would breath heavy? want to know what parts i may need to uprate if there is further issues...

#4Positive crankcase ventilation, its your oil breather system. People refer to an engine "breathing heavily" if the PCV is blocked, i assume that is what you ment by your post. If thats the case, it just needs cleaning out.

#5hmm ive cleared the old oil out by using a flush would that clear it?? how do you clear it...??

#6Petrol should clear it out nicely. Be careful though, don't want to you go up in flames !

#7there is no breather valve on a saxo ,so if you havean after market air filter with seperate breather filter and its coming from there ,then check your oil consumption
any less than 1000 mile per litre and its time to look for another engien
rebuilding it will cost you alot more .so unless you are fitting forged pistons etc ---find a good s/h unit is best advice
cost of std pistons from citroen ,and thats only place you will get them is over £400 per set,then add a rebore £150,then all gaskets etc --not worth it for a std engine -
