Can you fit an induction kit on a 1.1i?

I have a 1999 East Coast 1.1. I have had a look at engine pics on here and read alot about induction kits and air filters. My question, can I fit an induction kit on my engine? It seems that I would have to axe a whole lot of parts and do some sort of re-routing to get an induction kit to work. Would I be better off just replacing my standard filter with a new one?

you would want a flat filter, panel filter for the standard airbox would be best

    Agree.

You can fit a induction kit, but there in a awful place and won't make a difference to performance except a negative one.

Nice! Is this one of those mods that you normally should tell your insurance about?

And on top of that, I can't help but notice that there is alot of piping running around for the air filter. Why the hell is there pipping going to the manifold?

Nope, no need to tell insurance tbh

Could also if you wanted to drill a couple of holes above the filter on the airbox. Also the silver piping going from the manifold cover can go!

I take it that is the large cylinder case with the latch? So, is a panel filter my best option and will I see any sort of increase in performance? Any other things I can do to the piping that feeds it to increase airflow?

It is a modification of some sort and its best to double check check with the insurance company to know where you stand. every insurance company is different...

Not really, it's just a WASHABLE and RE-USABLE panel filter that goes in the airbox

its not a modification at all its replacing a air filter like you would when you do a service.. your just replacing it to a better quality one.. its not increasing performance as such like say adding a turbo..
