Important! : Rocker Cover Air Pressure?

  1. #1
Is their an amount of air pressure coming out of the rocker cover when taking the oil cap off?

Will be a big help, cheers
  2. #2
    how do you mean?

when you take the oil cap off and the engine is running you will be able to feel air coming out (normally its pushed through the breather pipe and back into the air intake)

Go on 04:26 or 05:22 a bit differrent there you will have the sound, pulsating airstream made by the movement of the cams, valves and crank.

Whining noise possibly water pump or cam belt tensioner pulley or maybe PAS pump getting noisy.

The "air pressure" is mainly blow by gasses leaking past the piston rings - into the sump - back through the breather - in to the rocker cover.

Excessive blow by is sign or worn engine, do you use a lot of oil mate?
