if the ecu was locked would the engine still turn over?

the only black box under my dash was a longish one screwed to the back of the metal fuse pannel

all im getting is a little key symobol flashing at me,

i have just done a vtr to vts conversion btw

the engine will still turn over but wont fire, the orange flashing key means the imobiliser has kicked in

the ECU needs to be unlocked mate, immob is stopping the engine kicking in

Is the ecu light on? if not the ecu doesnt have power, and that will cause the flashing light too. If its not turning over either. Have u connected the engine loom?

Its impossible to say without knowing if the ecu light is on or the fuel pump etc is priming. It could just as easy be a faulty ignition relay
