pro’s and con’s for ecu remapping

   Pro: Better performance, better fuel consumption
   
   Cons: erm as long as its done by someone who knows the ecu properly and maps it correctly cant think of anything

   i heard that i have to be careful with turbo, that it can overheat if i turn off the car after rough driving

   your supposed to let the oil circulate although its not as much a problem with diesels as they run hot anyways.

   Send it over to superchips...
   
   They'll stick in a 'standard' Hdi chip then modify it on the fly on a rolling road to optimise for your particular engine charactistics, as each engine is slightly different.
   
   Superchips have a type of warranty that covers damage to transmission and engine caused by the chip... so overheating turbo for instance.
   
   You can get better economy only if your right foot behaves itself otherwise its going to drink more fuel than before.

   Yes you are suppose to leave the engine on for a couple of seconds after hard driving to allow the turbo to progressively wind down - as the turbo could fiction weld itself together if it were to just stop... However I've never come across a car that it has happened to, yet.

   mainly the problem with all that is that im from croatia and we just got dastek chip tuning, so...
   
   i heard that a guy drove on the highway, pedal to the floor, stopped on a gas station and turned off the car to drink a coffee. then got back in the car and drove off the same way. in cases like this it's really expected that something will malfunction

   indeed but really all that needs to be done is to let the engine revs sit at idle for a few seconds then switch it off.
   
   If you dont want your engine to go tits up then im sure you will get familar with holding on a few seconds before switching off.
   
   Shame you cant get superchips in croatia.
   
   We have a local dealer in my town and the guy was saying that customer with a BWM 330d came in and got the superchip installed and he reckoned it was now quicker than an M3!!!
