Decat centre pipe

   Hi people i was wondering if i decated my car but kept the standard backbox on my car just the manifold with no cat and the centre pipe would it make that much difference. Like loudness or wud it sound crap someone i know said it wouldnt sound the best, but dont no if he knew what he was talking bout?

   Im guessing that it would change the sound but obviously the sound would be different than if you were to also fit a back box.
   
   Fitting a aftermarket centre pipe which would decat your car would have more effect on performance than fitting a back box only anyway as a back box would do nothing to the performance of your car whereas the decat centre pipe will, if only slightly.

   It would change the sound for the better. Backbox makes the biggest difference but you'll get a more sporty note.

   Yeah, it would make a big difference not only for the sound but performance wise. Ive not done it myself but a mate of mine has fitted a decat to his vtr and it sounds the dogs!

   Decated my old Mk1, rest of sytem standard, sounded more raspy and was a wee bit quicker - win!

   my vts is running a 4-2-1 de cat no mid silncer and standerd back box is very raspy but also quite so its a winner both ways
