hi everyone, and hope this isn't a daft question or one with an obvious answer but i bought a VTS engine minus cams, had a pair of STD cams delivered but need to know how to identify which is the inlet cam and which is the exhaust, thought they may be like most modern cars and be marked but no such luck lol

At a long shot could you measure the cam lobe sizes on each cam with a vernier?
Should give you an idea of which cam produces more lift hence which is inlet/exhaust.

Usually there are identification numbers on the camshafts so you can tell. There is the great possibility that they are the same profile so are not marked. Certainly many of the Cat Cams use the same profile for inlet and exhaust
