Hi thinking off refurbing some alloys at the weekend and just wondering if I took the tyres off completely would I have any problems with putting them back on, I mean will the machines that tyre places use leave marks around the edges or will they be ok??

    Any one had any problems??

they should be ok if you let the paint and laquer harden for a few days
  4. #4
Is it best to leave the tyres off or can the job be just as good with them left on??
  5. #5
you can leave the tyres on mate just deflate them then make sure you mask out really good so no paint goes on the tyres

Get the tyres took off dude, will be alot easier, as masking out tyres takes the P*ss,

A good tyre company have a proper tyre machine for alloy wheels, the bits that rub on the rim are plastic/very hard rubber, so wont make a mark

    edit,: i did mine white

thanks for your help guys I'll give it a go at the weekend, think I'll probs just leave the tyres on

that wont pull the tyre off but will help if you leave them on when masking them

Just make sure the tyre fitter uses loads of soap and use a ring on the rim to protect it when they fit the tyre.
