my car idles funny

   hi bassicly my car idles up and down i have changed the icv and i fount out its the vacum pipe from the icv to the air filter
   
   so how do i fit the vacum pipe ? its a mk1 vtr so hard to find a pipe thats good from scrappy can i just put tape around it ?

   not sure tape would be a permanent fix mate, best to search and replace pipe
